Apple Founders – Steve, Steve & Ron
Apple Computer Company had three founders: Steve Wozniak, Steve Jobs AND Ronald Gerald Wayne. Ronald Wayne had worked at Atari with Steve Jobs and the three of them co-founded Apple on April 1, 1976. Ronald had a 10% stake in Apple. Two weeks later he got cold feet because as a partner he would be legally liable for any debts incurred by the other partners so he sold his 10% for $800.00.
Later that year (1976) the Steve’s developed a business plan and incorporated Apple Computer Inc. First year’s sales (1976) reached $174,000, 2nd Year sales (1977) reached $2.7 million, by the 4th year (1980) sales had reached $117 million, and by the 6th year $1 billion. Steve Jobs was a millionaire at age 23 and worth over $100 million by age 25.
