Man vs Chimp – Memory Test
Can chimpanzees count from 1 to 9 in the right order? Yep!
Can chimpanzees remember where each number is if they are flashed on the screen momentarily? Yes, they can.
Can chimpanzees even recall the correct order of the numbers after they are flashed? Uh-Huh.
Can chimpanzees get it right even if only part of the set of nine numbers are flashed briefly and get them in the right sequence? You Bet!
Can chimpanzees do this with a high degree of accuracy? Yep. (6 chimpanzees, multiple sequences, only one failure)
What about humans?
Can humans do as well at this as the chimps did?
What do you think? Watch the video!
NOTE: These were young chimps, young humans and, evidently, young chimps, have better short term memory than adults. Also, ya have to assume that these chimps spend a lot more time playing this game than humans.
