Kenny Price took a drive down Route 66 recently and visited Gary Turner’s Sinclair Station. Kenny took the photo (above) of his 2008 Bullitt Mustang at Gary’s Station.

In the 30’s Route 66 was the busiest road in America. The entire 2300 mile stretch from Chicago to Los Angeles was continuously paved by 1938. John Steinbeck, in his 1939 novel The Grapes of Wrath named Route 66 the “Mother Road”. The movie was made a year later and firmly placed “Route 66” deep into the American consciousness.

My Friend Kenny Price and his new 2008 Bullitt Mustang in April 2008
He said the movie “Bullitt” is one of his favorites
“And there it was, a highland green Bullitt edition Mustang, complete with 315 Horsepower (15 more than a stock GT) Highland green over black leather, turned aluminum dash and a trick 5 speed with the same ball shifter as in the original car.
Oh, one more thing……I brought it home.
Mine is number 3505 of 7000. Yeah, I know, but you only go around once. I now have …a nice cruiser for all the Route 66 weekends.”
